Brad Cutshall
General
An FEI rider, trainer, and clinician, Brad also imports horses from Sweden and Holland through Landmark Farms.
His approach to training, emphasizing softness and suppleness, has been developed during almost 20 years of training
with some of the world's leading dressage riders and trainers.
Interested in horses at an early age, Brad's formal training began at age 14 with four-time British Olympic dressage
coach Robert Hall. His training continued with dressage experts Belinda Nairn, Carol Olford Grant, and Kyra Kyrklund.
Through these and other talented trainers, his skills and theories continue to develop.
Brad's experience in adapting training methods while holding principles constant has enabled him to achieve success
with a wide variety of horses and riders. His skill in uncovering the basis of problems and treating horses as individuals
enables him to formulate training strategies for his students that keep them progressing between clinics. Sound theories,
realistic application, and a true love for the art of dressage make him a popular clinician throughout the Midwest.

Goals
Training HistoryWork with Kyra at Flyinge emphasizes the systematic approach to training horses including applying the basics to FEI movements and adding brilliance through relaxation. Focus is also placed on improving teaching techniques, especially on breaking down the training process and preparing students to identify and correct problems encountered while training on their own.
Carol Olford Grant—1994 to 1995
Carol has been an FEI rider and trainer for over 25 years. She was a member of the 1984 United States Olympic team, has
participated in several Olympic festivals, and has won numerous national titles.
Carol's approach to training is based on the biomechanics of the horse and rider. She emphasizes the influence the rider's seat and position have on the horses's self-carriage. The use of forward motion to build impulsion, suppleness, and collection is also stressed.
Belinda Nairn—1981 to 1994
Based out of her farm, Inspo International, Belinda is an Olympic rider and trainer. She is well known for her ability to
turn young horses into lasting Grand Prix competitors. Her many accomplishments include winning numerous internatinal and
national titles. Belinda was a member of the US Bronze-medal winning teams in Los Angeles and Seoul.
Belinda's training emphasizes horse's performance including how to demand the best while instilling confidence. Focus is also placed on the process of logically solving problems encountered when training a horse from green-broke to Grand Prix.
Robert Hall—1979 to 1981
A four-time British Olympic dressage coach, Robert has trained several international Grand Prix horses including two Olympic
mounts. Based on his studies at the Spanish Riding School, Robert teaches classical equitation to riders of all disciplines
at his farm, Fulmer International.
Training with Robert provided Brad with the opportunity to study classical equitation and to ride international-level FEI horses. Emphasis was placed on the relationship between the rider's equitation and the horse's performance.
